Master of Faces May 23, 2007 Malice so cold it burns the skin, Lies, scorching desert wind, Nameless souls were led astray. Hot sulfur, dark altar, Heaven watching with dismay. Diamond promises from fell lips, Betrayal time won't eclipse. Words a devils' masquerade, Fall of man, failure span, Descent to sin faith will fade. Fallen stars give the impression Of pure light and redemption. Like fool's gold they may pretend- False beauty leaves few free- Leading to an anguished end. Lucifer, master of faces, Hate, the poison he laces From behind his white-washed mask. The master of faces, Many children in his grasp At mercy of feigned graces And slaves to his Hellish task.
